Part 2

One emerging theme in the book is being a hero. Rapp shows being a hero when he comes back to the small town in al qaeda to see if anything else has happened.
"We must go back there, we need to see what else we could find. Its the presidents life on the line." (96)

Vince Flynn,
The next section in your book is awesome. the first thing i like reading about right off the bat was hearing more about our terrorist al yamani who stole a yacht so he could sneak into the country. he had just woken up after killing 3 members on board so that he could complete his mission in the United States of America. in only 3 days, al yamani traveled to to the coast of florida were he would finally set forth on real american soil. the next chapter was nice also because we got to meet irene kennedy. kennedy is a special agent for the cia and has a leading rank that lets her do pretty much whatever she feels like. she gets a call from the cia at home one night to figure out that there is going to be a planned attack on the president of the united states. without hesitation she tells the cia to not say anything to the president and to immediately send out another force to the same location where they found the material on the president to try and find any other information that they could.

Part A: Shaheed- Arabic term for holy martyrs; applied by Palestinians to suicide bombers (pg.20)
unscathed- coming back unharmed or being uninjured. (pg.30)

"I have devoted my life to this mission and i will not quit until i have done whats right." (pg. 37) this quote is significant because it shows how devoted mustafa al-yamani is to his mission.

Part B: Vince Flynn, i loved how you started of the first part of your book. you started off the book so amazing that i couldn't even put it down. right away there was action with mustafa taking over the ship right away was amazing. i really enjoy the character rapp. he is a very interesting character that i cant wait to learn more about. the book got a little quiet/boring for a couple of chapters but then it got good again when 4 helicopters headed for a small town in al-qaeda to try and stop a small terrorist attack. i also liked how you tied in the attack and the troops who fought there finding information on an assassination plan on the president of the united states. i felt that the best part of this section of the book was the attack on the small city in al qaeda. after the cia found out about a small assassination plan they decided to go to the town and attack immediately to make sure no reported attack happens. right after taking down the town the cia finds some hidden papers that relate to an attack on the president on the united states of america. i thought this was an awesome beginning plot to the book.

outside reading part 5

in the last part of my paper chris has two last journeys he talks about. one of the journeys chris talks about is when he wants to rejoin boy scouts. he wants to get stronger so he does. he quickly realizes though that he wasnt exactly ready for the task of rejoining right away. he wasnt fit to a boy scout we will say. or smart enough. they go on a hiking trip his first week in and have to survive a full weekend on there own with 5 other scouts from there group. chris's group cant produce a fire the whole weekend and almost starve and just could make it the whole weekend. they failed the trip. then next trip he takes is with his leader and they go hiking in the woods again. it all goes well except chris was always behind the whole trip and didnt help in any way but he made it through and succeeded. the last part is talking about how he became a writer. it started off when he cheated on a book report. he made it up and got a A- on it. in college chris and a buddy of his would right storys and would correct them for each other. his friend would later on publish a couple storys before chris would. then chris decided it was time to publish. so he called up his friends publisher and published his first novel.

i loved part 5 and also the last part of my outside reading assignment. i felt the last part of the book really got into his personal life more than any of the other parts i read. the whole story on him wanting to be a boy scout and going into it weak and then coming out of it still weak but stronger in the heart was amazing. that chapter i felt summarized the whole books meaning of becoming a man. chris stood up to a big challenge and he overcame it as hard as hey could. finally i loved the last chapter the most. its called "Why i became a writer" and talks about how and why chris decided to take on the profession of writing. i think this chapter is very very personal to chris and i think its really cool he decided to talk about it in his book. the last part of chris's book/ part 5 of the book was by far in my opinion the best part of the book because it talked about the most crazy adventure of his young life and his most amazing story at the same time. this book was amazing.

Sea inside part three

one shot i really remember is when u first saw ramone lying in his bed. you saw him just lying there and looking up into the sky like he wanted to be free of his body and travel anywhere. the camera angle they used on this scene was a high angle shot. the significance of this shot showed that other people were in a sense bigger than ramone and were more powerful than him. another camera angle a i remember being used in the movie was a eye level shot when the attorney first saw ramone. she sat down on a stool so she could talk directly too him and made sure he didnt feel less in power or weaker than her. the last really powerful shot i remember was when ramone started flying. he was able to move his hand then all of a sudden he got out of bed and started walking. then before the audience new what was really happening he was flying out the window and into the mountains and the sky. the shot they used for this scene was an oblique angle shot too show ramone flying. this shot/scene is significant because it shows ramones dreams to the audience and his dream to be free and that he wants out of his hell of being paralyzed.

Sea inside part two

the sea inside and the diving bell and the butterfly were two very similar and also very different books. there similarities are that both main characters are pretty much locked in, meaning they cant move really any part of there body but parts on there head. both men wanted the same thing and that was death. ramone wanted it in a way were he actually wanted to kill himself and end his life. bauby already felt dead inside because he could talk. they one way there illnesses were different were that bauby could only move his eye to communicate with people and ramone could actually talk to people. they both published books. bauby published his a couple of days before his death and ramone also published his a couple of days before his death. i think that the sea inside was more powerful. i think the message portrayed in the plot was more powerful than that of the diving bell and the butterfly. i also believe the whole message of the sea inside was more browd and touched more people than the diving bell and the butterfly

Sea inside part one

i love the movie. i thought it was great. the plot was amazing in how they tied in everything at the end. the camera angles were brilliant and the movie was altogether just amazing! i think ramone brought up a good fight for his own will that he wants to die. he has been trapped inside himself for 25 years and finally made up his mind that he wanted to die. i believe the court should have no say in the matter of ramones request for suicide. its his own life and his own decision and i think the court should let him do whatever he wants to do. i believe ramone made the right actions at the end of the story. since the court wouldnt give him what he wanted he went and did it by himself. not making it a big deal. i think his friends are like guardian angles to ramone. they helped him when he needed it and they did it.
